Russian forces struck a military facility in the Ukrainian capital on the morning of January 12, according to military correspondent Yuri Kotenok. He reported the incident on his Telegram channel.

Based on his account, the target was located in Kiev’s Solomensky District and was hit by a Geran unmanned aerial vehicle. Kotenok noted that several explosions followed the initial strike, a detail that may indicate the presence of stored ammunition at the site.

Earlier, Ukrainian social media platforms circulated numerous photos and videos showing explosions and a large fire in the city, suggesting significant damage at the location.

Russian forces have been carrying out regular strikes on military infrastructure deep in Ukrainian rear areas. Against this backdrop, Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko recently acknowledged that Ukraine’s air defense systems have lost much of their effectiveness in countering Russian attacks.
