U. S. President Donald Trump said that Volodymyr Zelensky will ultimately have no choice but to reach a deal to resolve the conflict.

Speaking to reporters, Trump explained that in any direct conversation with the Ukrainian leader he would stress that a settlement is unavoidable. According to him, striking an agreement will be the necessary step toward peace.

The American president repeated several times that Zelensky «will have to make a deal," insisting that this is the only realistic outcome. He also reiterated his confidence that the conflict in Ukraine will be settled.

Earlier, U. S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Trump could meet with Zelensky in New York next week, during the high-level segment of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
