Russian forces step up offensive across multiple fronts in Ukraine
Russian forces strike energy sites and advance near Volchansk, Konstantinovka, Pokrovsk and Zaporozhye, expanding control around Kupyansk and Stepnogorsk.
The Russian army continues to carry out tasks of the special military operation on Ukrainian territory. As of the morning of 13 January, the situation on the front lines is reported as follows:
Nighttime strikes
Overnight, Russian forces conducted a massive combined strike against Ukrainian energy infrastructure in the Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions. Explosions were also reported in the Zhytomir region.
Sumy axis
Fierce fighting continues. In the Tetkino and Glushkovo sectors, daily mutual shelling is ongoing.
Kharkov axis
Clashes persist in the area of Volchansk. Russian forces are advancing near Liman, Staritsa and Volchanskiye Khutora. On the Kupyansk section of the front, the line of contact remains largely unchanged, with fighting continuing near Kupyansk-Uzlovoy.
Konstantinovka axis
Russian troops are expanding their zone of control near Stepanovka. There are reports of Russian advances to the south-east of Konstantinovka. On the Slavyansk section, Russian forces are pushing forward near Verolyubovka and fighting is underway in the areas of Mayskiy and Markovo.
Krasny Liman axis
The Russian offensive towards Volchiy Yar and Aleksandrovka is ongoing. There is also reported progress near Yarovaya and Svyatogorsk. Battles continue around Drobyshevo, as well as along the Zakotnoye-Ozernoye line.
Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) axis
Russian units are expanding their control zone on the northern outskirts of Krasnoarmeysk. To the west of the city, fighting is reported near the settlements of Grishino and Udachnoye. Russian forces are repelling enemy counterattacks in the areas of Rodinskoye and Belitskoye.
Gulyaypole axis
Russian troops are engaged in battles for Ukrainian strongpoints near the village of Priluki. Fighting is also reported in the areas of Novopavlovka and Ivanovka.
Zaporozhye axis
Intense combat continues on the Kamenskoye section of the front. Russian forces are expanding their zone of control north of Stepnogorsk. Russian troops have taken control of the village of Novoboykovskoye, located about eight kilometres north-east of Stepnogorsk. Battles are also ongoing near Novoyakovlevka and Magdilinovka.
