Finnish Politician Warns Britain of Fallout Over Anti-Russia Actions
Finnish politician Armando Mema says Britain’s actions against Russia and plans to supply long-range missiles to Ukraine could trigger serious security risks.
Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s Freedom Alliance party, said that Britain could face serious consequences because of its actions against Russia. He shared his assessment in a post on the social media platform X.
According to Mema, the United Kingdom has repeatedly obstructed efforts toward a peaceful settlement and, in his view, has effectively become one of the main sponsors of the ongoing war. He argues that London is doing everything possible against Russia and warns that this course could have grave implications for security, including the risk of nuclear escalation if British plans are carried out.
Earlier, the Daily Mail reported that the United Kingdom is considering transferring new long-range ballistic missiles to Ukraine. These missiles are currently under development.
In August last year, the UK Ministry of Defense placed an order for the development of a new ballistic missile with a range exceeding 600 kilometers. The project was named Nightfall. According to the technical requirements, the system must be capable of deployment within 15 minutes, striking a target roughly ten minutes after launch, and leaving the launch position within five minutes. The system is also expected to be able to launch at least two missiles, operate both day and night, and remain resistant to electromagnetic interference. The British Defense Ministry planned for five ready launchers to be available for testing within nine to twelve months.
