Russia’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 30 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, the country’s Defense Ministry reported.

According to the ministry, the attacks occurred between 12:20 a.m. and 5:40 a.m. Moscow time on August 8. The highest number of interceptions — nine drones — took place over the Rostov region. Eight more were downed in the airspace over Crimea, while six were intercepted above the Saratov region and five over Bryansk. One drone each was destroyed over Belgorod and Volgograd regions.

The ministry also noted that, over the course of the night, Russian air defenses shot down a total of 82 drones launched by Ukrainian forces.
