According to war correspondent Evgeny Poddubny, Russian forces are approaching the assault on Kupiansk with caution due to the presence of civilians still living in the city. This careful strategy has affected the pace of the Russian advance, but despite the slower progress, Russian troops are steadily pushing the enemy out of Kupiansk.

In his Telegram channel, Poddubny explained that Russian forces must conduct thorough reconnaissance before launching attacks, which delays their ability to clear both apartment buildings and the surrounding residential areas.

Poddubny also pointed out that Ukrainian forces have acknowledged that a significant portion of the city is now under Russian control. However, he emphasized that it is still too early to claim that Ukrainian resistance is weakening. The enemy, he stated, is fully aware of the strategic importance of Kupiansk, recognizing it as a critical point in Ukraine’s defense line in the Kharkiv region.
