According to Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds, Riga has delivered a batch of nearly 50 Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers to Kyiv. He emphasized that these vehicles will now undergo a real combat test. In addition to the 42 APCs, Latvia also provided Ukraine with other military equipment.

Sprūds stated that this move offers Latvia an opportunity to develop its defense industry by testing the durability and combat effectiveness of the locally produced Patria vehicles under actual battle conditions.

The information about the delivery of Patria 6×6 to Kyiv first emerged in July of this year. Sources revealed that the entire batch is destined for the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. War correspondent Evgeny Poddubny noted that the Patria 6×6 vehicles may not perform well during the autumn mud season. He believes that this vulnerability could be exploited by Russian drone operators.
