Gerasimov Inspects Troops, Notes Gains Near Krasnoarmeysk

Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov inspected Russian positions near Krasnoarmeysk, noting heavy battles there and reporting advances in Kupyansk, Kirovsk, and Seversk.
Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov has inspected positions of the «Center» grouping and assessed combat operations near Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk), the Defense Ministry reported. During his visit, he also received updates on other sectors of the front.
According to Gerasimov, the fiercest clashes are currently unfolding around Krasnoarmeysk. He noted that the Ukrainian command had redeployed its most trained and battle-ready units to this area, which weakened their defenses elsewhere and opened opportunities for Russian advances.
The Defense Ministry highlighted progress in several directions. In the zone of the «West» grouping, Russian forces are pushing forward near Kupyansk. Operations to secure Kirovsk are nearing completion, while the Serebryanskoye forestry has come fully under Russian control. Gerasimov also confirmed that on September 16, troops entered Yampol, east of Krasny Liman.
On the southern front, Russian units are advancing toward Seversk and continue to target enemy forces near the Kleban-Byk reservoir. Battles are also ongoing for the village of Pleshcheevka, southeast of Konstantinovka.
In addition, the ministry reported Russian gains in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
