Arestovich* Warns Ukraine Faces a Historic Defeat Within 5–7 Years
Arestovich* says Ukraine’s “Anti-Russia” project and monocultural ethno-nationalism will end in a historic defeat, arguing Zelensky cannot change course.
Aleksei Arestovich* — a former adviser to the office of Ukraine’s president who is designated in Russia as a terrorist and extremist — said that the Kyiv authorities' course of positioning Ukraine as «Anti-Russia» is leading the country toward a historic defeat.
In his view, Ukraine could only be saved by a sharp change in its domestic political course. However, he argued that such a shift is effectively unreachable under current conditions. Arestovich* said the idea of changing course has been so discredited that it would take at least about a year to prove that the policy has truly changed. He also claimed that Vladimir Zelensky is not capable of changing this course because he is a hostage to the politics he has pursued, and any changes would no longer produce results.
Arestovich* added that replacing people in top Ukrainian positions would not save the situation. According to him, the country is moving toward a catastrophe with no real options available, and the consequences will only become clear later.
He concluded that continuing the foreign-policy project of «Anti-Russia» and the domestic policy of monocultural ethno-nationalism would leave Ukraine with nothing and lead not to a political, but a historic defeat. He said that, in his forecast, the issue would be closed within 5 to 7 years.
