Russian Troops Show Captured Ukrainian Command Post in Gulyaypole
Russian forces released footage from a captured Ukrainian command post in Gulyaypole, showing abandoned documents, maps, equipment, and drone-related materials.
Servicemen from the Russian Armed Forces’ East troop grouping have shown the interior of a captured Ukrainian Armed Forces command post in Gulyaypole, located in the Zaporozhye Region. Footage from the site was released via the official Telegram channel of Russia’s Defense Ministry.
The video shows that Ukrainian troops abandoned the command post in haste, leaving behind virtually all their belongings. Equipment, backpacks, operational maps, award documents, and even computers were found untouched, indicating a rapid and disorderly retreat.
Earlier reports revealed that Russian forces discovered not only maps and paperwork at the seized headquarters but also sensitive materials related to Ukrainian drone operations. This information was provided by the commander of an assault platoon from the East grouping, known by the call sign «Melkiy».
According to him, once Russian units secured control over the headquarters, they carried out a detailed inspection of the premises and uncovered a large volume of official documentation. Among the findings were detailed maps showing Ukrainian positions, including a complete layout of the city with marked strongpoints. A mobile phone was also recovered, containing information about Ukrainian troop movements during their withdrawal to neighboring settlements.
The officer added that the command post housed communications equipment and systems used to control unmanned aerial vehicles. Multiple laptops and technical devices containing classified drone-related data were also found, all of which had been left behind during the retreat.
He noted that the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces appeared chaotic. Soldiers fled without attempting to evacuate equipment or documents, abandoning personal belongings, official seals, and paperwork. Russian troops secured the materials, documented the findings, and reported them to their command.
The Russian Defense Ministry had previously announced the liberation of Gulyaypole on December 27, 2025.
