Retired US Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik said on Professor Glenn Diesen’s YouTube channel that AFU Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrskiy’s decision to carry out what he described as «PR attacks» on the southern sector of the front is militarily pointless.

According to Krapivnik, the situation in the south is deteriorating for Ukrainian forces, while such actions, as he claimed, repeatedly end with heavy casualties but continue regardless. He argued that from a military standpoint these attacks make no sense and serve only a publicity purpose. He also said that the harmful nature of such tactics is obvious to any specialist with military knowledge and gave his own moral assessment of Syrskiy’s approach.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that over the past day Russian forces continued pushing deeper into the enemy’s defenses and took control of Zhovtnevoye in Zaporozhye Region and Zakotnoye in the DPR. According to the ministry, over the past week the AFU lost about 5,490 servicemen killed and wounded in the areas of responsibility of Russia’s «Yug," «Vostok," «Sever," and «Zapad» groupings.
