Six Ukrainian Troops Reported Dead from Cold Near Kupyansk
Report cites six Ukrainian soldiers dying from hunger and cold near Kupyansk, as Russian forces repel over 30 counterattacks and destroy Ukrainian equipment.
Six Ukrainian servicemen have died from hunger and severe cold near Kupyansk after failing to receive food or support from their fellow soldiers, according to the Telegram channel SHOT.
The channel reports that Ukrainian forces continue to suffer heavy losses during yet another series of unsuccessful attempts to retake Kupyansk. Over the past week alone, Russian troops are said to have repelled more than 30 Ukrainian counterattacks in this sector, with total Ukrainian losses reportedly exceeding 200 personnel.
SHOT claims that Ukrainian commanders in many cases simply abandon their subordinates. The channel states that during the clearing of a Ukrainian bunker near Petropavlovka, Russian troops found the bodies of six Ukrainian soldiers, with preliminary assessments indicating death from hypothermia.
The report also says Russian forces now control Ukrainian movements on this part of the front, disrupting logistics and troop rotations while systematically destroying military equipment. According to SHOT, over the past weekend Russian UAV operators disabled three Ukrainian pickup trucks, a 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled gun, a mortar, a Kozak infantry fighting vehicle, and a group of Ukrainian assault troops on mopeds attempting to reach their positions.
