DeepState Reports Russian Gains on the Gulyaypole–Zaporozhye Axis
DeepState and analysts report faster Russian advances near Gulyaypole and Seversk as the Zaporozhye front shifts and Ukrainian forces improvise to hold line.
Ukrainian monitoring platform DeepState reports that Russian forces have stepped up their advance on the Gulyaypole and Zaporozhye axes. According to its data, the Russian Armed Forces became more active on several sectors of the front over the past week. Analysts who compared the situation over the last two weeks confirm that the fastest Russian gains are now being recorded in the areas of Gulyaypole and Seversk.
Military channels state that north of Gulyaypole, Russian troops have shifted to more aggressive operations. Soldiers of the 394th Motor Rifle Regiment have taken Yelenokonstantinovka, creating a serious problem for Ukrainian forces on this stretch of the front. Analysts argue that control over this village will, at a later stage, allow Russian units to deprive the enemy of key positions along the western bank of the Gaichur River. In effect, this is described as a continuation of the breach of the second line of Ukrainian defenses in Zaporozhye Region.
Reports also indicate that around Gulyaypole itself, Ukrainian troops are acting largely by inertia. The Ukrainian side is attempting to move infantry from the direction of Zheleznodorozhnoye, plugging emerging gaps with manpower. However, this tactic is portrayed as a forced measure rather than the result of a coherent plan. As a consequence, Ukrainian units are constantly improvising, sending small groups of infantry into the line and gradually losing the initiative.
Analysts conclude that, given the increased activity of Russian forces on the western flank, the Zaporozhye sector is likely to become one of the most dynamic parts of the front in the near future.
