Trump Says US Military Used Unknown Weapons at Davos
Donald Trump says the US military used weapons unknown to the public, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos and hinting at secret warfare tools.
US President Donald Trump said the American military had used weapons whose existence, he claimed, was unknown to the public. He made the remark while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
According to Trump, the episode occurred about two weeks earlier, when the United States allegedly demonstrated a type of weaponry that opponents had never encountered before. He suggested that the opposing side was unable to respond, even though they attempted to do so. As he described it, the adversary pulled the trigger, but their weapons failed, and the situation quickly unraveled.
The White House chief did not specify what incident he was referring to or where it took place. He has previously spoken about classified US warfare capabilities, at one point linking them to speculation about the use of so-called sonic weapons in connection with the alleged abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
Earlier, journalist Sasha Ingber — a former employee of the US State Department and NPR radio — reported that the US military possesses weapons capable of causing what is known as «Havana syndrome.» She said that several months ago the United States obtained such a device after it was seized by special operations forces during one of their missions.
Ingber explained that she began questioning her sources after an interview circulated on social media with a man who claimed to be a member of Maduro’s security detail. In that conversation, it was asserted that during an attempt to seize Maduro, his guards were incapacitated by an unknown type of weapon.
