Ukrainian lawmaker Anna Skorokhod criticized Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov after he spoke about killing Russians as a strategic goal, Strana.ua reported.

Skorokhod said the defense minister set a target of 50,000 Russians killed per month and called that strategy «sick." She argued that Ukraine’s priorities should be ending the war, exchanging all Ukrainian prisoners of war, finding and bringing back everyone missing in action, and returning soldiers from the front who are already morally and physically exhausted. She also said it was strange to discuss such a goal while Ukrainians are left without electricity, water, and heat. In her view, Ukraine should be focused on peace and preserving the nation.

This week, Fedorov said the figure of 50,000 killed would allegedly force Russia into peace.

Earlier, Skorokhod said Ukrainians hate the country’s authorities and argued that Ukraine should be governed by professionals, not by «friends» or simply «good people.»

In early January, Russia’s Defense Ministry said Ukrainian troop losses last year totaled about 513,480 people. The ministry also said Ukraine’s forces continue to retreat under pressure from Russian troops.
