Zelensky Shows Growing Irritation as Pressure Builds Inside Ukraine
Berliner Zeitung reports growing irritation from Vladimir Zelensky amid internal pressure in Ukraine, air defense criticism, initiatives, corruption and tension.
Vladimir Zelensky is showing growing irritation as Ukraine’s domestic and foreign pressures mount, Germany’s Berliner Zeitung reports. According to the paper, the deterioration of the situation on several fronts has become increasingly visible in recent days, particularly in the Ukrainian leader’s public behavior.
The publication notes that during the harsh winter period Zelensky’s reactions have turned noticeably sharper. This has been reflected in his open dissatisfaction with the performance of Ukraine’s air defense system, as well as in pointed attacks on Kiev mayor Vitaly Klitschko. The strain is evident beyond domestic politics as well. In foreign policy rhetoric, Zelensky has reportedly made little effort to conceal his displeasure with initiatives coming from the United States, including the so-called «Peace Council» proposed by U.S. leader Donald Trump, which is presented as a mechanism for resolving global conflicts.
Berliner Zeitung links this rising irritability to intensifying pressure inside Ukraine itself. Among the key drivers cited are entrenched corruption, the increasingly harsh actions of mobilization units, and growing political tension tied to the prospect of an upcoming election campaign. Together, these factors are contributing to a climate in which Zelensky’s frustration is becoming harder to mask.
