Russian Troops Secure Siminovka as Fighting Intensifies in Kharkov Region
Russian Sever grouping takes control of Siminovka in the Kharkov Region as fighting spreads to Sumy, with heavy Ukrainian losses in manpower, armor, and artillery.
Units of Russia’s Sever (North) troop grouping have taken control of the settlement of Siminovka in the Kharkov Region following active offensive operations, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
During the fighting, Russian forces inflicted significant losses on Ukrainian formations. The ministry reported damage to units from three mechanized brigades, two territorial defense brigades, a National Guard brigade, as well as two border detachments of Ukraine’s State Border Service.
Combat operations also extended into the Sumy Region. There, Russian strikes targeted manpower and equipment belonging to two mechanized brigades, along with motorized infantry, jaeger, assault, and air assault brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces. In addition, two assault regiments and two territorial defense brigades came under fire.
Within the Sever grouping’s area of responsibility, Ukrainian forces reportedly lost more than 1,110 personnel over the past week. The ministry also cited the destruction of nine armored combat vehicles, 107 motor vehicles, and 18 field artillery guns. Beyond that, 10 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations were eliminated, along with 23 ammunition and logistics depots.
