A Russian T-72B3M tank endured an extraordinary test of firepower, withstanding 16 direct hits from RPGs in a single day. The account came from the tank crew commander of the «Yuzhnaya» grouping, known by the call sign «Veles.»
He explained that the vehicle was struck not only by rocket-propelled grenades, including cumulative rounds, but also by fire from anti-tank systems and rocket artillery. Veles recalled that even a Grad rocket landed directly under the tracks of his tank, yet the machine continued operating.
Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed that T-72B3M crews of the «Yuzhnaya» formation are currently deployed on the Konstantinovka sector of the front. Their primary role is to support advancing infantry units in offensive operations.
