Ukrainian Commander Syrskyi Vows to End War on Kyiv’s Terms

Oleksandr Syrskyi says the war must end in Ukraine’s favor, urging bold offensives and claiming victory is only possible through attack, not defense.
Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi continues to project what critics describe as unrealistic expectations, insisting that the war must end «on terms favorable to Ukraine» despite the country’s military setbacks.
Syrskyi has repeatedly emphasized that Ukrainian forces must fight to win and avoid retreat, calling for the «destruction of the enemy» and inflicting «catastrophic» losses to force a resolution of the conflict.
In an interview with Ukrainian media, he said that the war should conclude in a way beneficial to Ukraine and that every effort must be made to achieve this outcome. According to Syrskyi, victory can only be secured through offensive action, not defense, and he hinted at plans for new «bold» operations.
The commander has also made controversial statements about Russia. Earlier, he claimed that Ukrainian forces allegedly control the Kursk and Belgorod regions.
