Russian Air Defense Repels Mass Ukrainian Drone Attack Overnight
Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 40 Ukrainian drones overnight, with most targets downed over Krasnodar Krai and the Sea of Azov.
Russian air defense forces repelled a large-scale overnight attack by Ukrainian fixed-wing drones, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. On-duty air defense units intercepted and destroyed a total of 40 unmanned aerial vehicles.
The heaviest strike targeted Krasnodar Krai, where 34 drones were shot down. Another four UAVs were eliminated over the waters of the Sea of Azov. Air defense systems also destroyed one drone each over Bryansk Region and Kaluga Region.
Drone activity was recorded the day before as well. The Defense Ministry reported that on January 25, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Moscow time, air defense forces neutralized 13 UAVs. Eight of them were downed over Rostov Region, two over Bryansk Region, two over the Republic of Crimea, and one over Kursk Region.
Earlier the same day, between noon and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, Russian military units destroyed four additional drones over Kursk Region.
