Russian Forces Push Forward on a New Section of the Kharkov Region
Russian troops advance on a new section of the Kharkov Region after securing Degtyarnoye, launching assaults on Nesternoye and Krugloye near the border.
Russian forces are continuing an active advance on a new section of the Kharkov Region, according to reports from the Telegram channel Operation Z: Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring. The outlet says the latest developments follow a recent cross-border move from the Belgorod Region, where Russian troops fully cleared the area around the village of Degtyarnoye.
After securing that area, Russian army units moved on to offensive operations against the settlements of Nesternoye and Krugloye. Footage published by the source reportedly shows Russian servicemen inside Nesternoye, which, according to the channel’s assessment, confirms that positions near the village had been taken and held earlier.
Progress in this sector has also been acknowledged by Ukrainian military analysts. They report that during the fighting Russian infantry managed to occupy positions in a basement in Nesternoye, indicating a foothold inside the settlement itself.
Taken together, these developments suggest that Russian forces are continuing to push forward and consolidate control in additional border-area localities along the Volchansk direction, with the stated aim of expanding what is described as a «buffer zone». Earlier media reports had already indicated that Degtyarnoye had come under Russian control, after which troops continued advancing deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines.
