Ukrainian Armed Forces command was preparing a strike on targets inside Russia using long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, aiming to replicate an earlier operation known as «Web.»
According to the Telegram channel Shot, Russian troops detected a heavy truck carrying UAVs in a border area between the Chernihov and Sumy regions of Ukraine. After the vehicle was identified, it was hit with fire from a Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system.
The strike destroyed both the truck loaded with drones and the mobile Ukrainian Armed Forces unit that was escorting the cargo.
On June 1, 2025, Siberia came under attack by Ukrainian drones for the first time since the start of the special military operation. The UAVs were launched from a container mounted in the back of a truck, as part of the operation later referred to as «Web.»
