Russian offensive in Ukraine: situation on key fronts as of 29 January
Frontline update for 29 January: Russian forces advance on the Kharkov, Konstantinovka, Liman and Zaporozhye axes in Ukraine amid heavy fighting.
The Russian army continues to carry out tasks within the framework of the special military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of 29 January, the situation on the main axes was described as follows.
Russian forces launched combined strikes on Ukrainian targets, with explosions reported in the Odessa and Vinnitsa regions.
Kharkov axis
Russian troops are advancing in the areas of Staritsa, Simonovka, the Volchanskie Khutora and near Khatnee. Heavy fighting continues in Kupyansk. In Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, the enemy is moving infantry across the Oskol River. Russian units are pushing toward Kutkovka.
Konstantinovka axis
Russian assault troops are moving toward the center of Konstantinovka. Clearing operations continue north of the Kleban-Byk reservoir. Russian forces have expanded their zone of control southeast of Markovo.
Liman axis
Fighting continues for Stavki, Drobyshevo and Yarovaya, as well as in the southern part of Krasny Liman. On the Seversk sector, there are tactical gains near Zakotnoye. Russian units are widening their control around Reznikovka and advancing on Golubovka. Battles are also ongoing south of Nikiforovka.
Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) axis
Russian forces are expanding their foothold in Grishino and pushing forward in the Novo-Shakhovo area. Clashes are taking place near Belitskoye and Novy Donbass.
Gulyaypole axis
Russian troops have enlarged their bridgehead beyond the Gaichur River. Fighting is underway on the southern outskirts of Zaliznichnoye and on the approaches to Tsvetkovoye.
Zaporozhye axis
Battles continue in Primorsky and around Lukyanovskoye. Russian forces are making progress in the direction of Zaporozhye. Units are developing a western encirclement of Orekhov, advancing from Novoyakovlevka and Pavlovka.
