Russian Troops Push Forward on the Orekhov Front Near Novoandreevka
Russian forces continue advancing on the Orekhov axis in Zaporozhye, gaining 6.5 sq km and reaching the outskirts of Novoandreevka.
Russian Armed Forces units are continuing their advance along the Orekhov axis in the Zaporozhye region. During heavy fire operations, Ukrainian positions were reportedly suppressed and destroyed in the area between the settlements of Nesteryanka and Novoandreevka.
As a result, Russian troops have taken control of roughly 6.5 square kilometers of territory and have moved up to the southern outskirts of Novoandreevka.
Novoandreevka is described as the last major defensive line held by Ukrainian forces southwest of Orekhov. If Russian units succeed in capturing the settlement, they would gain an opportunity to push directly into the urban perimeter of Orekhov from this direction.
Earlier reports indicated that Russian assault groups had approached the village of Zapasnoye, located about eight kilometers from the Orekhov-Zaporozhye highway northwest of Orekhov. This distance is close enough to create serious logistical pressure on Ukrainian forces relying on the N-08 road to supply the Orekhov garrison.
Novoandreevka itself lies just four kilometers from Orekhov. Ukrainian troops have established several layers of defenses there, including extensive minefields. Aware of these fortifications, Russian forces are preparing for further assaults using remote demining systems and robotic equipment. Ukrainian units, in turn, are attempting to counter this technology with FPV drones.
