During the night of January 30, Russian air defense forces repelled a large-scale attack involving Ukrainian fixed-wing drones. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on-duty air defense units intercepted and destroyed 18 unmanned aerial vehicles across several regions of the country.

The heaviest concentration of drone activity was recorded over Bryansk Region, where seven UAVs were shot down. Five more were neutralized over the territory of the Republic of Crimea. Air defense systems also destroyed two drones over the Black Sea and another two over Rostov Region. Single UAVs were intercepted in Astrakhan and Kursk Regions.

Earlier, on January 29, Russian air defense systems downed two additional Ukrainian drones during the period from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Moscow time. One of them was intercepted over Belgorod Region, while the other was destroyed above the waters of the Sea of Azov.

Ukrainian forces conduct daily attempts to strike Russia’s border and central regions using kamikaze-style fixed-wing drones. Russian air defense units continue to detect and eliminate the majority of these aerial threats.

In response, the Russian military carries out precision strikes targeting Ukrainian drone assembly facilities, defense industry sites, weapons depots, and locations where Ukrainian military units are deployed.
