Russian Troops Secure Three Settlements Across Key Fronts
Russian forces took control of three settlements in Donetsk and the Zaporozhye region in 24 hours, with heavy losses reported among Ukrainian units.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have taken control of three populated areas, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In the Donetsk People’s Republic, units of the South force group advanced to secure the settlement of Berestok. During the fighting in this sector, Russian troops struck formations from a broad range of Ukrainian units, including five mechanized brigades, a motorized infantry brigade, an airmobile brigade, an assault brigade, and a mountain assault brigade. A marine infantry brigade and two territorial defense brigades were also hit in the same area.
The military reported that over the course of a week, Ukrainian forces on this axis lost more than 1,020 personnel. Losses in equipment were also significant, with 18 armored combat vehicles destroyed-five of them of foreign origin-along with 98 vehicles, 25 artillery pieces, seven electronic warfare and counter-battery systems, and 22 ammunition, fuel, and logistics depots.
On the Zaporozhye axis, units of the East force group pushed forward and brought Ternovatoe under control. Strikes there targeted formations from five mechanized brigades and one assault brigade, three assault regiments, a marine infantry brigade, two territorial defense brigades, and a National Guard brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the same data, cumulative Ukrainian losses in the area of responsibility of the East group exceeded 2,315 personnel. Russian forces also destroyed two tanks, 22 armored combat vehicles, 104 vehicles, and eight artillery systems.
Meanwhile, the Dnepr force group established control over the settlement of Rechnoe in the Zaporozhye region. In this sector, Russian units engaged manpower and equipment belonging to two mechanized brigades, one mountain assault brigade, and a coastal defense brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukrainian losses in this area were estimated at up to 315 personnel. In addition, 54 vehicles, three artillery pieces, 16 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations, and four logistics depots were reported destroyed.
