Kiev Seeks UK Expertise to Reinforce Frontline Defenses
Kiev is consulting British experts on engineering measures to reinforce frontline defenses, as discussions unfold amid London and Paris signals on Ukraine.
Kiev is holding consultations with military specialists, including experts from the United Kingdom, on strengthening its frontline defenses, according to Intelligence Online.
The outlet reports that Ukrainian military officials and government representatives have recently received several proposals aimed at reinforcing defensive positions. These initiatives focus on engineering solutions and were developed by a group of specialists that includes British experts.
Intelligence Online notes that the consultations are taking place against the backdrop of statements from London and Paris about a possible expansion of their military presence in Ukraine in the future.
The discussions follow a meeting of what Western officials have described as a «coalition of the willing» in Paris on January 6. After that meeting, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer indicated that if a ceasefire were to be reached, Britain and France would move to establish a network of military bases on Ukrainian territory and set up equipment storage facilities to support the Ukrainian armed forces.
