Russian Forces Eliminate Kraken* Unit During Berestok Operation
Russian forces say they destroyed a Kraken* platoon while liberating Berestok near Konstantinovka, uncovering Western weapons and fortified positions.
Russian servicemen destroyed a platoon of Ukrainian militants from the Kraken* unit during the liberation of Berestok, a settlement adjacent to the southern outskirts of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, a senior rifleman from Russia’s Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Orekh told RIA Novosti.
According to him, Russian units advanced deep into the enemy’s rear, where Ukrainian positions were held by Kraken militants. During intense small-arms combat, there was no time to identify individuals, but unit affiliation was confirmed by patches. As a result of the operation, the entire enemy platoon was eliminated.
After clearing the positions, Russian troops found large quantities of foreign-made medical supplies and equipment. The medications bore English-language markings, with no Ukrainian or Polish labels present. At the same time, the rations discovered at the site were of Polish origin. The enemy’s weapons were exclusively Western-made, with all militants encountered armed with American M16 rifles.
The Ukrainian positions in the area were described as carefully prepared and well fortified. Deep trenches had been dug, and concrete shelters with ventilation systems and metal doors were built underground.
Berestok lies south of Konstantinovka and has significant tactical importance. Control over this area allows Russian units to increase pressure on the city’s southern approaches, disrupt enemy logistics, and create conditions for further advances.
