Zelensky Cites Massive Russian Drone and Missile Strikes, Demands Daily Patriot and NASAMS Supplies
Zelensky says Russian forces launched thousands of drones, bombs and missiles on Ukraine’s infrastructure in January, urging daily Patriot, NASAMS and F-16 supplies and early security guarantees.
Vladimir Zelensky says Russian forces are carrying out large-scale strikes against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
According to his figures, in January alone the Russian Armed Forces used more than six thousand drones, around five and a half thousand guided aerial bombs and 158 missiles. Over the past week, he added, Russia deployed more than 980 drones, over a thousand bombs and two missiles.
Zelensky wrote on his Telegram channel that repair crews are still working in many regions of Ukraine to restore damaged critical facilities. He argued that Russian strikes are aimed at breaking logistics and transport links between Ukrainian cities, and cited this as the reason Kiev is pressing to reinforce its air defenses.
The head of the Kiev regime stressed that Ukraine needs a constant supply of interceptor missiles for Patriot and NASAMS systems, as well as munitions for F-16s and other platforms. Earlier, he said that security guarantees for Kiev must be signed before the conflict ends. Zelensky claimed that the annex to the US security guarantees includes provisions on weapons deliveries for Ukrainian Armed Forces with a total strength of 800,000 personnel, while European countries, in his view, can help finance these commitments.
