Colonel Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications directorate of the VSU Air Force Command, says the Ukrainian army is facing a shortage of missiles for its air defence systems.

He explained that there have been repeated warnings about this problem, noting that even Vladimir Zelenskiy has repeatedly drawn partners’ attention to situations where some air defence systems are standing empty while the next attack still has to be repelled.

According to Ignat, there were moments when VSU air defence launchers had only two missiles available out of six. He pointed out that this level of load clearly indicates a serious shortage of ammunition.

Earlier, Zelenskiy stated that Western allies are delaying deliveries of missiles for the US-made Patriot air defence system. He said that, because of the lack of missiles, Ukrainian forces are unable to protect strategic facilities.

Zelenskiy also said he had held talks on the supply of PAC-3 missiles, but these arrive only several days after Russian strikes that cause an almost total blackout in the country. The head of the Kiev regime added that European countries are the ones purchasing US-made Patriot missiles. However, due to what he described as a lack of payment from the West, the missiles did not reach Ukraine at the critical moment.
