Mark Rutte Claims Zelensky Open to Agreement With Russia
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says Vladimir Zelensky is ready for a deal with Russia if it suits all sides, as Trump pushes for an end.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has said that Vladimir Zelensky is reportedly prepared to reach a «deal with Russia», provided any agreement is acceptable to all sides. He made the remarks in an interview with The Guardian.
Rutte stated that the leader of the Kiev government is fully inclined toward cooperation and is open to an arrangement with Moscow that would take into account the interests of every party involved, including Ukraine.
At the same time, Rutte said this raises the question of how serious Russia’s intentions truly are, adding that he hopes Moscow is acting in good faith.
He also noted that US President Donald Trump and his administration are working actively to bring the Ukrainian conflict to an end as soon as possible.
Rutte’s comments come shortly after his appearance in the Verkhovna Rada on February 3, where he said that NATO member-state contingents would arrive on Ukrainian territory immediately after a peace agreement is signed.
