Russian ground assault units have successfully trapped elements of the 57th Motorized Infantry and the 127th Heavy Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a forest near the village of Sinyelnikovo, located in the Kharkiv region.
The Telegram channel «Northern Wind» reported that the encircled Ukrainian forces number up to a company. Russian troops have been relentlessly targeting these positions with heavy fire.
In addition, Russian forces have advanced 200 meters further into the region. Despite a counterattack by the Ukrainian forces, it was unsuccessful. The same report noted significant progress by Russian troops on the left bank of the Volchya River and in the eastern areas of Volchansk.
Amid the clashes, Russian forces captured one Ukrainian soldier. In response to the increasing pressure, the Ukrainian command sent a battalion from the Chernihiv region to reinforce the front line at this critical position.
