Russian forces pressing the offensive on the Zaporizhzhia axis have driven Ukrainian units out of the village of Staroukrainka near Gulyaipole. Assault troops from the Guards 114th Regiment of the 127th Motorized Rifle Division of the 5th Army, part of the «Vostok» grouping, were reported by the Telegram channel Voin DV to have taken control of the settlement after intense close-quarters fighting.

During the battle for Staroukrainka, Russian troops destroyed up to two enemy platoons from the 225th Assault Regiment and the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian armed forces, and knocked out around ten pieces of Ukrainian military hardware.

Following the capture of the village, Russian units secured a section of the former Ukrainian defensive line covering more than five square kilometers. This gain later enabled Russian troops to push roughly six kilometers further west of Gulyaipole.

Military-focused Telegram channels note that Ukrainian reserves were brought into the Gulyaipole sector with a serious delay. As a result, part of these forces is now being used to plug gaps on neighboring stretches of the eastern Zaporizhzhia front, while Ukrainian units are currently trying to buy time by counterattacking Russian positions.
