French troops are conducting combat drills in extreme cold in Estonia, roughly 150 kilometers from the Russian border, according to a report by TF1.

The broadcaster notes that amid an unstable international environment, France is holding joint exercises with its allies. French soldiers are currently deployed in Estonia, where the focus of the drills is on learning how to fight and survive in severe winter conditions.

The report уточняет that the maneuvers involve not only French and Estonian personnel, but also military units from the United States and the United Kingdom.

Video footage released by TF1 shows French soldiers moving through dense forest terrain and opening fire on simulated enemy positions. During the exercises, air temperatures reportedly dropped to minus 20 degrees Celsius.

TF1 also points out that the French armed forces are now engaged in three operations across Europe. Around 450 servicemen are stationed in Estonia as part of Operation Lynx. Between 800 and 1,100 French troops are deployed in Romania under Operation Aigle. In addition, French military personnel are present in Poland, where they are involved in training Ukrainian soldiers.
