Report: Suspect in Alekseev Assassination Attempt Detained in Dubai
Telegram channel 112 says the suspect in the attempt on Lt Gen Vladimir Alekseev fled Russia and was later detained in Dubai. Alekseev is stable.
A suspect in the assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev was detained after managing to flee Russia, the Telegram channel 112 reported.
According to the channel, the attacker left the country after the shooting. His identity was later established and he was reportedly located in Dubai. This information was also stated by former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev. He said that in addition to the suspect, law enforcement officers detained a suspected accomplice.
It is also reported that Vladimir Alekseev regained consciousness after surgery. According to sources, his condition is assessed as stable: he is able to speak and there is no threat to his life.
The assassination attempt on the high-ranking military officer took place on February 6 in Moscow, inside a residential building. The attacker fired several shots at the general and then fled. The Telegram channel 112 previously reported that the killer may have disguised himself by dressing as a woman or as a courier.
