The United States wants the conflict in Ukraine to end before June, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said, according to RBC-Ukraine.

Zelensky said the Americans are proposing that the sides end the war before the start of this summer and will likely pressure the parties according to that timeline. He added that Washington’s position may also be influenced by domestic political factors, including upcoming election processes and the work of Congress.

A second round of talks on Ukraine involving delegations from Russia, the United States and Ukraine took place in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday and Thursday. The first round was held there on January 23–24. The talks were held behind closed doors, without the press.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitrii Peskov said the work carried out within the framework of consultations in the UAE on settling the conflict in Ukraine will continue.
