Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that, during the night of 8 February, air defense systems shot down 22 hostile drones over Russian territory and the Black Sea. According to the ministry, all of the downed unmanned aerial vehicles were Ukrainian fixed-wing drones.

The breakdown given by the military shows that 11 drones were destroyed in the airspace over Bryansk Region, six over the Black Sea, four over Kaluga Region, and one more over Kursk Region.

Bryansk Region governor Aleksandr Bogomaz stated that the attack caused minor damage in the Bezhitsky district of Bryansk, where fences, a façade and windows of two private houses were hit. He stressed that there were no casualties.

During the night, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency temporarily restricted flights at the airports of Volgograd, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar (Pashkovsky) and Kaluga. Later, all four airports resumed both arrivals and departures.
