Russian Army Eliminates Ukrainian Special Forces Preparing Dnepr Crossing
Russian troops destroyed a Ukrainian special forces unit preparing to cross the Dnepr River near Kherson. Strikes also hit Poltava repair base and an airbase with F-16 jets.
Russian forces eliminated a Ukrainian special operations unit that had been preparing to cross the Dnepr River, according to information shared by Sergei Lebedev, a coordinator of the pro-Russian underground in Nikolaev.
Lebedev reported that in the Kherson sector, Russian troops destroyed what he described as a small Ukrainian special forces detachment. He suggested it was likely a sabotage and reconnaissance group planning to move across the Dnepr and target the local population. His remarks were cited by the news agency RIA Novosti.
Earlier, media outlets reported that Russian forces struck a repair base near Poltava that included railway tracks, hangars, and industrial workshops. Explosions were also recorded in Mirgorod and surrounding areas.
Another target hit by the Russian military was an airbase district near Poltava, where, according to intelligence data, American F-16 fighter jets were located.
