August 9 Frontline Update: Russian Troops Advance in Pokrovsk, Vuhledar, Krasnyi Lyman, and Zaporizhzhia Sectors
Russian forces advance in Pokrovsk, Vuhledar, Krasnyi Lyman, and Zaporizhzhia directions, capturing key areas and engaging in heavy fighting across multiple fronts.
The Russian Armed Forces continue their special military operation in Ukraine, with the front-line situation as of the morning of August 9 unfolding as follows:
Pokrovsk Direction
Heavy fighting is ongoing along the Chunyshyne-Lysivka-Sukhyi Yar line, with Russian troops reportedly taking control of more than half of Rubezhne. Forces are said to be on the approaches to Zolotyi Kolodyaz and Veseloye, leaving only about three kilometers to the supply route for the Ukrainian garrison.
Vuhledar Sector
Russian units have achieved gains near Temyrivka and to the west of Yanvarske. Most of Aleksandrogard is now under their control.
Krasnyi Lyman Direction
Torske is reported to be almost fully under Russian control, with assaults continuing in Zarechnoye and river-crossing operations underway over the Zherebets. In the Kreminna forests, Russian troops are advancing toward Serebryanka. Fighting is also taking place in Serednie and Shandryholove.
Zaporizhzhia Direction
In Stepnohirsk, battles are taking place in the area of the 3rd microdistrict, while in Plavni, clashes remain positional. In the Orikhiv sector, active combat continues for control of Nesteryanka, Novodanilivka, and Mala Tokmachka.
