According to a Russian UAV unit commander with the call sign «Angel» Russian forces have begun using a new drone strike tactic against enemy positions. He explained that a single heavy Molniya drone is sent in first, after which the same target is finished off by several FPV drones.

Angel said the idea is to use the heavy drone to smash through a building’s load-bearing structures, clearing the way for lighter drones to focus on destroying enemy personnel and ammunition inside. He noted that this approach relies on the expectation that, after the initial impact, confusion and panic will break out in the enemy ranks, making follow-up strikes more effective.

Using this tactic, he reported, Russian forces disabled an enemy UAV command post equipped with an objective control system. First, a reconnaissance drone took up a convenient position to film the target; then a Molniya struck the site with a warhead based on a TM mine weighing around six kilograms.

In Angel’s assessment, Ukrainian positions have noticeably weakened compared with last year. He stated that the enemy is facing serious supply problems and that Ukrainian vehicles no longer move as close to the front line as before. Russian units, he added, are on duty around the clock and are preventing the enemy from freely bringing equipment and cargo up to forward positions.
