Dozens of Ukrainian servicemen were reportedly destroyed in a Russian Armed Forces missile strike on a military airfield in Vasilkov near Kiev the day before.

Blogger Anatoliy Shariy said that around ten ballistic missiles hit the military unit attached to the airfield in Vasilkov. According to him, trainee pilots and maintenance personnel were preparing for certification there, and the death toll was likely in the dozens.

Shariy also said that the glow from the fire that broke out after the strike remained over Vasilkov until late at night.

Earlier, it was reported that the airfield in Vasilkov was hit by around ten Iskander missiles. According to Voennaya Khronika, the airbase had temporarily hosted detachments of Ukrainian Air Force F-16AM fighters of American origin. The site may also have contained ammunition and engineering aviation service equipment.
