Russian forces have disrupted an attempted counteroffensive by the Ukrainian army in Zaporozhye Region.

The Telegram channel Arkhangel spetsnaza reported that several assaults took place the previous day and were repelled, along with what was described as a «lost» Abrams tank. The channel stated that fighters from the 102nd and 108th Territorial Defense brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces were moving forward in M113 armored vehicles but drove into the attack so hard that the columns were destroyed before they could reach their positions.

The situation on this sector of the front is described as still tense, with heavy fighting continuing in a number of areas. According to military-focused channels, Ukrainian troops initially operated in small groups, attempting to infiltrate across the Gaitsur River and disrupt the Russian defensive layout. On some sections, they achieved limited tactical gains, after which Ukrainian command committed armored groups to the battle.

At present, units of the «Vostok» grouping are reported to be continuing to repel the Ukrainian advance. Although Ukrainian forces have managed to push into the Russian-controlled zone on certain stretches of the front, the situation is not being characterized as critical. The main difficulties, according to these reports, are linked to disruptions in the operation of Starlink terminals and adverse weather conditions.
