Russian Troops Push Forward on the Slavyansk Front
Russian forces advance on the Slavyansk axis, capturing Nikiforovka and nearby high ground, as fighting expands to several settlements, reports say.
Russian forces continue to advance under combat conditions on the Slavyansk axis. According to information released on February 10 by military blogger Yuri Podolyaka, Russian troops have taken control of the village of Nikiforovka, located roughly 30 kilometers southeast of Slavyansk.
Podolyaka reports that Russian units are building on the momentum gained with the capture of Nikiforovka. He notes that troops have also secured high ground to the southwest and northeast of the settlement, strengthening their tactical positions in the area.
At the same time, Russian forces have moved into active fighting for control of Lipovka and Fedorovka Vtoraya. In addition, they have taken elevated positions south of the village of Zakotnoye, further expanding their foothold along this sector of the front.
Combat operations have also begun around Krivaya Luka and Kaleniki. Podolyaka points out that if Russian troops succeed in capturing Kaleniki, this would significantly simplify an assault on the nearby village of Ray-Aleksandrovka.
Separately, on February 10, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that units from the East troop grouping had taken control of the settlement of Zalichnichnoye in the Zaporozhye Region.
