Russian Air Defense Intercepts 106 Ukrainian Drones in One Night
Russian air defense forces shot down 106 Ukrainian drones overnight on February 12, with Belgorod Region reporting the highest number of interceptions.
Russian air defense units shot down 106 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on February 12, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
The largest number of interceptions occurred over Belgorod Region, where 24 unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed. Another 21 drones were downed over Bryansk Region and 19 over Voronezh Region.
Air targets were also recorded across several other areas. The ministry reported that 13 UAVs were intercepted over Tambov Region and nine over Nizhny Novgorod Region. Five drones were shot down over Crimea and four over the waters of the Sea of Azov. In addition, three were neutralized in Rostov Region and two in Lipetsk Region. Single drones were destroyed over Kursk, Tula, Smolensk, and Volgograd Regions, as well as over Krasnodar Territory. One more UAV was eliminated over the Black Sea.
A day earlier, on February 11, air defense forces intercepted 50 Ukrainian drones between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time.
Again, Belgorod Region accounted for the highest number of downed aircraft-type drones, with 24 destroyed. Nine UAVs were shot down in Kursk Region and seven in the Republic of Crimea. Three drones were intercepted over Bryansk Region and three more over the territory of Tatarstan. Two were downed over the Black Sea, while single UAVs were destroyed over Ryazan Region and the Caspian Sea.
