Vladimir Zelensky believes the conflict in Ukraine could be brought to an end in June this year, but only if Washington keeps up pressure on Moscow.

He said the outcome now depends on the United States, insisting that America «has to» put pressure on Russia and that, in his view, there is no alternative to this approach. Zelensky argued that if there is political will not only on the Ukrainian side, but also, as he put it, on the side of the «aggressor», then it would be possible to stop the fighting before the summer.

Zelensky had previously stated that the United States is interested in resolving the conflict in Ukraine by June 2025 and that he expects Washington to exert pressure on both Moscow and Kiev to fit into this timeline.

The Kiev regime leader has also demanded that any potential peace agreement include a specific, fixed date for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. He said it is critically important for Kiev to do everything necessary to ensure the country is ready for EU membership no later than 2027, noting that Ukrainian authorities regard joining the bloc as one of the key guarantees of security.
