Su-25 “Grach” Attack Jets Deploy S-13 Rockets Against AFU Positions
Russian Su-25 “Grach” aircraft launch S-13 Tulumbras rockets at AFU positions in the SVO zone. Details on firepower, range, and battlefield role.
Russian Su-25 attack aircraft, widely known by their nickname «Grach," remain in active use in the special military operation zone. Designed primarily for strikes against ground targets, these jets are equipped to deploy a broad range of bombs and rockets.
Footage released by the Telegram channel Vzglad v nebo shows a pair of Su-25s carrying out an attack on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions. The aircraft used 122 mm S-13 «Tulumbras» unguided rockets during the strike.
The S-13 family is noted for its substantial destructive capability. Certain variants are capable of breaching reinforced concrete structures with walls up to one meter thick and destroying earthen fortifications reaching six meters in height. Depending on the modification, the rocket’s total weight ranges from 57 to 75 kilograms, with a warhead mass of up to 38 kilograms. The lineup includes high-explosive fragmentation, thermobaric, and penetrating versions. These rockets have a maximum range of up to six kilometers.
The Su-25 continues to rank among the most in-demand ground-attack aircraft on the battlefield. Its enduring role is largely attributed to heavy cockpit armor and its capacity to carry diverse weapons systems. The aircraft is built to withstand hits from anti-aircraft rounds of up to 23 mm caliber and still remain capable of completing its combat mission.
