Russia, US and Ukraine Consider New Round of Talks
Russia, the US and Ukraine may hold a new round of talks next week in Miami or Abu Dhabi as Washington hopes for progress in the settlement process.
Another round of negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement could take place as early as next week, Politico reports, citing a source familiar with the consultations. According to the publication, representatives of Russia, the United States and Ukraine are considering a new meeting, with Miami and Abu Dhabi mentioned as possible venues.
The talks are expected to continue in a trilateral format. The source told the newspaper that Washington hopes to see tangible shifts following the upcoming discussions and does not rule out measurable progress.
Earlier, closed-door consultations involving delegations from the three countries were held on February 5 and 6. The first round of discussions took place on January 23 and 24, focusing on unresolved provisions of the peace plan proposed by the United States.
Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Russian president’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, has also pointed to what he described as positive momentum in the settlement process, saying there are signs of progress in the negotiations.
