ISW Says AFU Launched Local Counterattacks After Starlink Restrictions
The Telegraph cites ISW: after SpaceX limited Starlink use by Russian forces, the AFU began local counterattacks and faced communication disruptions.
The Telegraph, citing a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), reported that the AFU shifted to localized counterattacks on the front line after SpaceX imposed restrictions on Starlink use by Russian forces.
According to ISW, Ukrainian units launched operations to restore defensive lines along the sector from Dobropolye in the south to Varvarovka in the north.
ISW reported clashes in the areas of Ternovatoye, Dobropolye, and Zaliznichnoye — a border zone between the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions.
At the same time, Kiev intensified strikes on Russian military infrastructure, including the use of Flamingo cruise missiles. The Russian Defence Ministry reported intercepting these missiles two days before the article was published. The escalation coincided with Starlink restrictions introduced to block unauthorized access by Russia.
After the restrictions, the AFU experienced communication disruptions on the front line. The Ukrainian side complained about problems, and an entire platoon from the elite Skala regiment allegedly disappeared from view. Starlink had previously been used by both sides, but SpaceX tightened control over its use in the SVO zone.
