Russian forces have thwarted attempts by several sabotage and reconnaissance groups to penetrate their rear positions in Zaporozhskaya Oblast, according to military correspondent Boris Rozhin.

Rozhin reports that Ukrainian units twice attempted to insert diversionary groups north of the village of Uspenovka. In the course of those operations, three groups were destroyed by Russian troops.

According to the correspondent, the infiltrators were dressed in Russian-style uniforms and used similar equipment. He indicated that the operation unraveled over minor details, which ultimately led to its failure.

After conducting identification checks and verifying the individuals involved, Russian forces eliminated the groups as they were crossing the line of contact. Rozhin also noted that such tactics have been attempted before, but not always successfully, adding that encounters with sabotage and reconnaissance groups tend to be brief.
