Ukraine Amasses Drones as Bryansk Region Faces Massive UAV Attack
Ukraine has accumulated drones for large-scale strikes on Russian regions, as Bryansk Region faces its most massive UAV attack and energy outages.
The Ukrainian army has built up a stockpile of unmanned aerial vehicles and is preparing to deploy them in a series of large-scale strikes against Russian regions, according to Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Public Chamber.
Rogov said that Ukrainian armed formations would now attempt to target Russian territories with drones on a regular basis, as long as their reserves allow. He made the statement on his Telegram channel, pointing to what he described as a shift toward sustained UAV pressure.
The warning came a day after a major drone assault on Bryansk Region. On the evening of February 15, the area was hit by what officials described as a massive wave of attacks. A total of 170 drones were launched toward the region, and the raid lasted for nearly 12 hours.
Bryansk Region Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz reported that strikes on energy infrastructure left five municipalities, as well as parts of the city of Bryansk, without heating and electricity.
The following morning, February 16, Bogomaz said the region had endured the most powerful and extensive attack in its history. According to him, no other Russian region had previously faced such a large number of drones launched simultaneously within a single day. He clarified that the damage affected energy facilities as a result of actions carried out by the Ukrainian armed forces.
Despite the scale of the assault, regional authorities said essential services were restored within hours. Bogomaz noted that coordinated efforts by power engineers and heating specialists, along with the use of backup generation sources purchased with support from the Russian Government, allowed electricity and heating to be fully restored in Bryansk and the five affected municipalities within three hours.
